Kris Aquino, “Queen of all media”, in politics?
Kris had expressed her plan to run for public office in 2016, as mayor in particular and for a higher position in the future. I would say, this news struck me and for once I questioned myself that if ever she pursues this, will I vote for her?
Actually I had just voted for the 2013 elections and that was my first time. I am now 22 but I was just able to register myself last year. I’d say that it was one thing I regret as I have missed the 2010 elections. This may also be the reason why I’m interested in this issue about Kris running for public office as I now consider myself a certified voter.
Kris, aside from being part of a well known family engaged in politics, has created her own name in the showbiz industry. She is a woman with high intellect that brought her where she is now. She has been very transparent and very vocal, a strong woman indeed.
Her plan to be part of politics is something (I’m not sure why) of my interest. I personally like her as a woman and love her being straight forward. I believe her intelligence makes her a good candidate. But if we think about it, she had made a lot of wrong decisions in her own life which we have been very aware of as she is a public figure. It gives me doubts as to how she can decide for the good of a number of people. But I hope that after all that she had gone through with her personal life, she is now better, stronger and smarter.
I also think that her being strong to stand for what she believes in is something which will benefit our country. She is someone who will fight for what she think is right. I think she can be “the second Miriam’ in politics. I can imagine her finding out some dirty doings in politics and announcing it to the public pinpointing exactly who are the people behind it. She will be considered ‘a headache’ for those politicians who have dirty little secrets. I’m looking forward to that.
I have read on an article that a catholic priest (does not need to name him) thinks that her plan to run for public office is like an indication of pushing political Dynasty in our country. He may have a point but on my personal opinion, political dynasty can’t be always bad. It really depends on the purpose of the assuming candidate. It may be that you have the same purpose as with the rest of the family members which is serving the country, why not?!. ‘It’s in the blood’ like they always coined it.
She may have no experience in politics yet but if she will start with a position like counselor for example, I think she can cope up with it, learn and be better than those who are currently in the senate. Who knows? She can be like Vilma Santos who’s now doing well as far as being a mayor of Batangas.
I guess as I write this blog, I had just given myself an answer to the question I just had for myself. If Kris gets to pursue her plan in running for public office and if I am a voter to the city she’ll choose, I’d say I’ll vote for her.
I don’t expect everyone to see it the way I did and I’m not an avid fan, just so it’s clear. 🙂 Anyway, you still have 3 years to think about it , if ever. 🙂
